Descripción:
The Puerto Rico Infrastructure Financing Authority in representation of the Office of the Governor (the Owner) and in accordance with Act No. 44 of June 21, 1988, as amended, and PRIFA Regulation for Procurement 5853 approved September 9, 1998, PRIFA is issuing this IFB in an effort to obtain comptetitive bids from experienced contractors interested in providing construction services for the following project at La Fortaleza:
BID NUMBER: AFI-BP-15-24-FTZA RESTAURACIÓN/REMPLAZO PUERTAS Y VENTANAS EXTERIORES CLARA LAIR #201 FORTALEZA BUILDING
This IFB specially attends for the Wind Retrofit Project 201 Fortaleza Building located in Clara Lair Street in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico (the Project). The Project involves the restoration and replacement of windows and doors with the intention to make the exterior openings of this building resistant to storm/strong winds and heavy/driving rain.
The existing doors and windows to be intervened are deteriorated due to sporadic or minimal maintenance; all are approximately twenty (20) years old, fabricated in (caoba) and/or (cedro) with natural finish or painted with enamel paint (white). Following a responsibly selective course, the intention is to replace the deteriorated elements - the sections impossible to restore. In addition an existing tempered glass door will be fitted with a new wood double-door (tablón) that will serve as a hurricane shutter.
Through this IFB, PRIFA will evaluated all Bidders that submit Bids in order to select the best Bidder that complies with all requirements presented in this IFB. PRIFA's roles and responsiblities to the Owner comprise of the assistance in the procurement process, as technical advisors in connection with the IFB process, to provide contract award recomendation(s), manage and to assist in the execution of the Project.
Bid packages can be collected starting Friday, November 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until Tuesday, December 1, 2015 until 4:00 p.m. at PRIFA's offices, located on 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza building, Twelve (12) Floor, Hato Rey. Bid Packages will have a non-reimbursable cost of one hundred dollars ($100.00) payable to PRIFA. Payments can be made by certified check or money order. Payments in cash will not be accepted.
The mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at Fortaleza # 54 building located on Fortaleza Street Old San Juan, 2nd Floor. All formal bids must included a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum Bid Value. All bids received, will be publicly opened, and read aloud by the Board of Awards at the 12th Floor, at PRIFA's offices located on 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza building, Hato Rey at the Bid Submittal Due Date. PRIFA reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid and to recommend to the Executive Director the awarded Bidders under the most favorable conditions to PRIFA's. All interested contractors must comply with the IFB packages provisions and they will be responsible to deliver the documents before Bid submission deadline.
