​​​"La Casa del Veterano" is located at Municipality of Juana Díaz, has approximately 20,000 square feet of structure and two (2) living units.  The first floor is a Domiciliary-Residential unit used by veterans who do not require specialized medical attention.  The second floor is a Nursing Home with specialized care twenty four hours a day which includes but are not limited to physicians, nurses, physical therapists, recreational therapists, social workers, and several other support personal.

After an audit in the facilities, VAO have to make some improvements in the firefighting system that was installed when the facility was built in 1998, and is necessary to perform a corrective plan for supply and installation equipment.

The improvements to be made are as follows:


​​Change the main water valves and install temper switches with alarm connection to the main fire alarm panel;  Provide smoke detectors in the secon level Nursing Home 2; Retrofit the facility with smoke dampers in both floors and wings of the facility, according to fire/smoke control zones layout; Change strobe lights at the facility in order to perform correct synchronization of light on the facility; Replacement of sprinklers head on walkin cooler and freezer; Installation of elevatorsuppression system.
 
Bid packages can be collected beginning Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. and wil be avaiable until Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at PRIFA'S offices located at 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza building, 12th Floor, Hato Rey.  Bid packages will have a non-reimbursable cost of one hundred dollars ($100.00) payable to the PRIFA with cerftified check of money order.  Payments in cash will not be accepted.

All formal bids mus include a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum bid value.  All bids shall be delivered by the Bidders at PRIFA'S offices located al 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza building, 12 th Floor, Hato Rey by the aforementioned date and time.  Al bids received will be publicly opended and read aloud by the Board of Awards at the 12th Floor Conference Room, at the Bid Submittal Due Date.  Additinally, in accordance with Law Number 85 of June 18, 2002, the contractor shall submit an Eligibility Certificate form the General Services Administration.  PRIFA reserves the right to accept of reject any bids and to recommend to the Executive Director the bid's award under the most favorable conditions to PRIFA.
