REVITALIZACIÓN DEL MALECÓN DE CATAÑO
MUNICIPALITY OF CATAÑO, PUERTO RICO
In accordance with Act No. 44 of June 21, 1988, as amended, and Procurement Regulation Number 5853 of Puerto Rico Infrastructure Financing Authority (PRIFA) approved September 9, 1998, the PRIFA’s is requesting competitive bids from contractors, for the project referenced above.
The Seafront Revitalization Program consists of the revitalization of eight (8) seafront locations throughout Puerto Rico, focusing on job creation and establishing new destinations along the seafront with a variety of uses: recreational, contemplative, cultural, and recreational congregation.
This Project, the eight (8) of eight (8), consists of the revitalization of Malecón de Cataño. The project is located at PR-188 / Las Nereidas Avenue in the Municipality of Cataño. The lot is 76,853 square meters and the proposed revitalization addresses a previously impacted area of approximately 5,080 square meters within the lot. The proposed project extends from the Municipality’s Fishing Village at the West, towards the Convention Center at the East. At the North, the limit is the San Juan Bay and at the South Las Nereidas Avenue (PR-888). One of the project’s main objectives is the creation of an outstanding tourist attraction, sensible to the surrounding ecology, existing natural resources and the identity of the context and community of Cataño.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: parking area, soccer field, boulevard, boardwalk, commercial spaces, public restrooms, bus stops, piers, waterfront balconies, playground area for children, adult outdoors exercising area, dog park, outdoor stage for public events, plazas, beach, and bike lanes, among others. All of the work shall be performed in accordance with applicable building codes, requirements of authorities having jurisdiction, construction documents, drawings and technical specifications.
Bid packages can be collected since July 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. until July 9, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at PRIFA’s offices located at 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza building, Fourth Floor, Hato Rey. Bid packages will have a non-reimbursable cost of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) payable to the PRIFA with certified check or money order. Payments in cash will not be accepted.
The mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at PRIFA’s offices located at 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza, 17th Floor Conference Room. All formal bids must include a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum bid value. All bids received, will be publicly opened and read aloud by the Board of Awards at the 17th Floor Conference Room, at the Proposal Submittal Due Date. Additionally, in accordance with Law Number 85 of June 18, 2002, the contractor shall submit an Eligibility Certificate from the General Services Administration. PRIFA reserves the right to accept or reject any bids and to recommend to the Executive Director the bid’s award under the most favorable conditions to PRIFA.
