REVITALIZACIÓN DEL POBLADO DE LA PARGUERA
MUNICIPALITY OF LAJAS, PUERTO RICO
In accordance with Act No. 44 of June 21, 1988, as amended, and Procurement Regulation Number 5853 of Puerto Rico Infrastructure Financing Authority (PRIFA) approved September 9, 1998, the PRIFA’s is requesting competitive bids from contractors, for the project referenced above.
The Seafront Revitalization Program consists of the revitalization of eight (8) seafront locations throughout Puerto Rico, focusing on job creation and establishing new destinations along the seafront with a variety of uses: recreational, contemplative, cultural, and recreational congregation.
This Project, the fifth of eight (8), consist of the revitalization of approximately 8,138.65 square meters of Parguera’s Village in the Municipality of Lajas, Puerto Rico. Access to the project is through PR 304 State Road. The area that encompasses the project is mostly flat and previously impacted by construction. It is delimited at the north by Casa Blanca Street, at the south by La Parguera Port, at the west by the Villa Parguera Hotel Facilities and at the east the Municipal Parking lot of La Parguera Village.
The Work consists but is not limited to the following: The revitalization of Poblado La Parguera through the refurbishing of Plazas San Pedro, San Pedro Mirador and Paseo Artesanal. Additionally the street, Camino Parguera to the north of the plazas, will be converted to a pedestrian walkway with vehicular access, bikeway, new lighting, landscaping, urban furnishings, and the partial burial of aerial infrastructure. A new platform and steps will be constructed between Callejón Casablanca and Camino Parguera Street. Existing stairs between Callejón Casablanca and Camino Parguera Street will be refurbished. An observation deck will be constructed on the roof of the Mirador building at Mirador Plaza San Pedro. A portion of Angel López Street will be refurbished with new geometry, asphalt wear layer, curbs, sidewalks, and lighting.
Bid packages can be collected since June 20, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. until June 27, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at PRIFA’s offices located at 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza building, Fourth Floor, Hato Rey. Bid packages will have a non-reimbursable cost of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) payable to the PRIFA with certified check or money order. Payments in cash will not be accepted.
The mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at PRIFA’s offices located at 268 Muñoz Rivera Avenue in World Plaza, 17th Floor Conference Room. All formal bids must include a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum bid value. All bids received, will be publicly opened and read aloud by the Board of Awards at the 17th Floor Conference Room, at the Proposal Submittal Due Date. PRIFA reserves the right to accept or reject any bids and to recommend to the Executive Director the bid’s award under the most favorable conditions to PRIFA.
