SPECIFICATIONA. HELMETS SPECIFICATION 1.1General Helmets for Structural Firefighting shall meet or exceed NFPA 1971, Standard on Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting, (Pertaining to Structural Fire Helmets). Certification/verification shall be furnished by written documentation supplied by a recognized independent third-party test laboratory.
A sample helmet meeting the requirements of this specification shall be supplied upon request for inspection and verification of compliance within 10 working days.
Helmets for Structural Firefighting shall meet or exceed NFPA 1971, Standard on Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting, (Pertaining to Structural Fire Helmets).
Certification/verification shall be furnished by written documentation supplied by a recognized independent third-party test laboratory.
A sample helmet meeting the requirements of this specification shall be supplied upon request for inspection and verification of compliance within 10 working days.
Helmets conforming to this specification are designed to help protect the firefighter from head and neck injuries related to structural firefighting activities. The helmet manufacturer shall be a certified ISO 9001 company to assure quality procedures and production capabilities.
Physical Configuration: The basic helmet shall be a flared, rear-brim design with a length of 15-5/8", a width of 12" and a height of 7".
Shell: The shell shall be comprised of a composite fiberglass with a thermoset fire-retardant resin. Color pigment shall be added to the resin as part of the manufacturing process that molds the helmet to maintain appearance by masking chips and scratches that might occur in daily wear and tear. The shell finish shall be available in white, yellow, red, and black. The edge of the composite shell shall have an aluminum reinforced, elastomeric edge beading that is secured at the rear of the brim by a brass clip and D-ring fastened by a brass rivet. The edge beading shall not melt, drip, or ignite when tested to NFPA 1971 Section 8.6 Heat Resistance requirement.
Leather Front & Holders:  A stamped, embossed, brass sheet front shall be provided in the form of an eagle to be attached by two solid brass bolts and nuts. The beak of the eagle shall be formed to hold the top of a leather identification shield. Two brass support arms shall fork and extend downward from the eagle head 3-1/2" from the tip of the eagle beak to form the lower supports for attachment of the leather identification shield. An arched brass bar shall be attached to the two lower support arms of the eagle to form a cross bar support.
An 8-32 threaded hole shall be provided at the lower support arms of the eagle to accept the two brass screws which hold both the cross-bar support and the leather identification shield.
Impact Liner System: The impact liner shall consist of a urethane foam liner covering a black heat resistant nylon inner shell with a Heat Deflection Temperature >180°C for ASTM D648, 0.45 MPa. The urethane foam liner shall be formed without the use of CFCs to eliminate the potential for additional expansion when subjected to heat during actual use. The black inner shell shall have four 1" x 3" pieces of adhesive-backed hook material attached, two to each side, to secure the ear/neck protector at the sides of the inner shell.
Crown Strap Suspension System: The crown strap suspension system shall be three 3/4" nylon web straps attached to six nylon keys. The keys shall be locked into the lip of the inner shell. a 3/4" piece of adhesive-backed Velcro® hook material attached at the center rear of this component to secure the rear portion of the ear/neck protector.
Ratchet Headband: The helmet shall have a quick-adjustment sizing capability by means of a ratchet adjustment system attached to a heat-resistant nylon headband. The headband shall be attached to the inner shell by four black acetal buttons which connects to two “U"-shaped thermoplastic adjustment components at the front and rear of the headband. These mechanisms shall allow the wearer six (6) unique combinations of pitch and ride height adjustments at both the front and rear of the head band for a total of thirty-six (36) discrete adjustment settings. The headband height adjuster shall permit at least 1" of travel by means of three height adjustment keys for proper fit. This adjustment shall not affect the height of the helmet on the firefighter's head. The rear adjustment component shall have a 3/4" piece of adhesive-backed Velcro® hook material attached at the center rear of this component to secure the rear portion of the ear/neck protector.
Brow Pad: The headband shall be supplied with a fire retardant (FR) cotton brow pad sewn around the perimeter, backed with foam cushion padding material at the forehead, that is removable for laundering and replacement. Attachment to the headband with stitching will not be permitted.
Chinstrap: The chinstrap shall be two pieces of 3/4" black Nomex® webbing with a super tough nylon quick release buckle and a chrome-plated postman's slide fastener. The male side of the quick-release buckle shall be anchored to the right side of the outer shell with a dielectric anchor block with dog-bone washer secured to the mounting bracket with two stainless steel screws seated in thermoplastic sleeves. For helmets with internal integrated visor, the chinstrap shall be secured on each side with three stainless steel screws: the front two screws attaching with a dielectric anchor block, the rear screw secured via acorn nut. The long portion of the chinstrap with the female side of the quick-release buckle and the postman's slide fastener shall be attached to the left side of the outer shell in the same manner. When the chinstrap is connected and fully extended, maximum length shall be at least 24" when measured from one anchor block to the opposite anchor block.
Ear/Neck Protector: The ear/neck protector shall consist of a 6 oz. rip-stop Nomex outer shell backed with three layers of FR cotton flannel for comfort and protection. A 1" strip of loop material shall be stitched in one continuous band across the top of the outer shell of the ear/neck protector for attachment to the inner shell. When properly attached to the inner shell of the helmet, the ear/neck protector shall have the following minimum coverage to the sides and rear of the helmet brim:
1. 6" from the sides of the helmet brim at the chinstrap.
2. 6-1/2" from the center rear of the helmet brim.
Eye Protection: Per the requirements listed in NFPA 1971, one of the following eye protection options must be specified with the helmet.
ReTrak™: Internally Integrated Visor The visor, when not deployed, shall store in a protected fashion between the inner liner and the outer shell. The visor shield shall meet the requirements of ANSI/ISEA Z87.1, Standard for Eye and Face Protection. This certification shall meet NFPA 1971 requirements for heat and impact performance. The visor material shall be a high heat polyarylate. A nose comfort pad shall be provided. The visor shall be optically correct with a scratch resistant coating on the inner and outer surfaces. The visor shall be deployable by the wearer with a single hand. The visor shall transverse across two axes of movement to accommodate most eyeglasses, safety glasses, or other protective eyewear. No tools shall be required for the wearer to remove the eye shield for cleaning, decontamination, or replacement. Visor must be held in place by retainer latches. Latches must be able to be actuated with the use of a single finger.
Face shield: The face shield shall be a hard-coated polyarylate material 4" x 15" that is molded in the formed position and designed to fit the contour of the helmet brim. The face shield shall be certified to meet the optic requirements of ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 Standard for Eye and Face Protection. This certification shall be in addition to compliance with NFPA 1971 requirements for heat and impact performance. The face shield shall be mounted to the brim of the outer shell by a glass-reinforced, flame resistant, nylon handwheel/stainless steel threaded stud attached to a brass T-nut which is supported by washer and mounting bracket. The face shield hardware shall be tested to NFPA 1971 Flame Resistance Test. The mounting bracket shall be secured to the brim of the outer shell by the chinstrap screws.
Retro-reflective Trim: The outer shell shall have 8 pentagon-shaped, fluorescent lime-yellow, retro-reflective markings equidistantly located around the circumference of the dome. The reflective materials shall be glass bead based to maximize the resistance to heat exposure experienced in firefighting. Vinyl-based reflective materials will not be considered equal.
TrakLite®: Helmet shall be made available with optional integrated light.
Warranty: The firefighter helmet shall be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of five (5) years from the date of manufacture on the helmet shell and lifetime (as defined in NFPA 1851: 10 years) warranty on the non-electronic components

Hoods shall be double layered coverage of head, neck, chest, and shoulder blades. UL Classified to meet or exceed the design and performance requirements of NFPA 1971 Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting.

C. COATS AND TROUSERS SPECIFICATION 1.3 This document specifies the materials and construction of protective clothing that helps protect the firefighter's upper body, excluding head and hands, from exposure to steam, water penetration, temperature extremes, hot particles, and other hazards associated with structural fire fighting activities.  Unless specified, all materials and construction meet or exceed NFPA Standard 1971 (2018 edition) and/or OSHA guidelines for structural fire fighting protective clothing and OSHA guidelines for occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
COMPLIANCE:  Manufacturer shall provide independent third party certification to verify that garment meets/exceeds NFPA
Standard 1971 (2018 edition).
THERMAL PROTECTIVE PERFORMANCE:  The assembled garment (outer shell, moisture barrier, and thermal liner) shall exhibit a TPP (Thermal Protective Performance) rating of not less than 35.
TOTAL HEAT LOSS:  The assembled garment (outer shell, moisture barrier, and thermal liner) shall exhibit
 a THL (Total Heat Loss) rating of not less than 205.
      I.        MATERIALS AND LABELING FOR COATS AND TROUSERS
OUTER SHELLS: PBI Max  ™.  7.0 oz/yd2, Proprietary PBI/Para-Aramid Blend, Twill Weave, with DWR Finish.  Color to be natural or black.
MOISTURE BARRIERS: CROSSTECH ®   Black, 2F, 4.7 oz/yd2, 3.3 oz/yd2 93% Meta-Aramid/5% Para-Aramid/2% Anti-Stat Facecloth Laminated to a Proprietary Gore ePTFE Film.
THERMAL LINERS: Glide Ice™ Pure.  7.6 oz/yd2, consisting of a 3.6 oz/yd2 86% Aramid/14% FR Viscose Twill Weave Face Cloth Quilted to a 4.0 oz/yd2 50% Meta-Aramid/50% Para-Aramid Needle punch Batting.
THREAD:  All thread shall be Nomex.
LABELS:  The outer shell and liner system shall each have a permanently attached label containing the following information: name of manufacturer, NFPA compliance, warnings, care and maintenance, type of material, identification number, size, date of manufacture, and order number with bar code.
    II.        WARRANTY FOR COATS AND TROUSERS
Coats and Trousers shall be warranted against defects in material or workmanship for the life of the garment.  Obligation under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement, without charge, of any product deemed defective by the manufacturer. The warranty does not cover normal wear or use for anything other than the intended purposes.
   III.        COAT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
CONSTRUCTION:  The outer shell shall be constructed using stitch types 301, 401, and 515.  The thermal liner and moisture barrier shall be constructed with stitch types 301 and 515.  Major A seams shall be felled locked construction with triple row stitching.
BODY:  The body of the outer shell and the liner shall be constructed of 4 separate panels - 2 front panels and 2 back panels, an upper yoke and lower panel.  An additional layer of outer shell material shall be sewn in at the shoulder extending from the front yoke seam to the back yoke seam. A layer of moisture barrier material shall be sewn inside the front panels of the outer shell at the front closure to provide additional moisture resistance.
SIZES:
B. Coat shall be 32" long, measuring from base of collar to coat hem.  Coat shall be available in even chest sizes with no minimum or maximum size restriction.
DRAG RESCUE DEVICE (DRD):  A Firefighter Drag Rescue Device shall be installed in each jacket. The ends of a  Kevlar® rope will be sewn together to form a continuous loop.  The strap will be installed in the jacket between the liner system and outer shell such that when properly installed will loop around each arm.  The rope shall be accessed through a portal between the shoulders on the upper back where it shall be secured in place by a hook and loop fastener strap.  The access port shall be covered by an outside flap with a reflective patch or trim for conspicuity.
THERMAL LINER AND MOISTURE BARRIER CONSTRUCTION:  Thermal liner and moisture barrier shall be bound together with a  1.5" FR Neoprene coated binding that  has a 2 needle lock stitched to support and retain shape.  Each liner shall have a 7" x 10" liner pocket constructed of thermal liner material.  An additional layer of thermal liner material shall be used to increase thermal insulation in the upper back, front and shoulder area of the liner system.  This thermal layer shall drape over the top of each shoulder extending from the collar to the sleeve/shoulder seam, down the front approximately 5 inches and from the juncture of the collar down the back to a depth of approximately 7 1/2 inches.  The upper back, front and shoulder thermal enhancement layers shall be sandwiched between the thermal liner and moisture barrier layers of the liner system and shall be stitched to the thermal liner layer only. Additionally, the thermal liner and moisture barrier shall separate at the bottom hemline for the purpose of inspection.  The opening shall close by means of hook & loop.
SEALED MOISTURE BARRIER SEAMS: Gore 1 inch seam tape shall be used to seal seams on the CROSSTECH  ®   Black, 2F moisture barrier.
METHOD OF ATTACHING THERMAL LINER AND MOISTURE BARRIER TO OUTER SHELL:  Standard coat liner shall be completely removable.  The liner shall attach to the outer shell with compression snaps across neck facing and four snaps along front facings.  Three snaps on each sleeve shall secure liner at sleeve water well.  Liner system shall be no more than 1" or more above bottom hem of outer shell or from outer shell sleeve end.
COLLAR AND THROAT TAB:  The collar shall be 3" high for its full length.  Top-collar and under-collar shall be outer shell material as specified.  Collar lining shall consist of one layer of moisture barrier material and one layer of Nomex.  Throat tab shall be constructed the same as collar and measure 3.5" x 9" with a scalloped shape for comfort.  A hook and loop fastener patch (hook side) shall be sewn 1.5" x 4" to the right side of collar for purposes of fastening throat tab, and a similar patch shall be sewn to opposite side for purpose of stowage.  A hook and loop fastener patch (loop side) 1.5" x 2" shall be sewn to end of throat tab.  A hanger loop shall be sewn on the outside of the coat within the DRD seam at the base of the collar.
SLEEVES:  The sleeves shall be of two-piece construction.  The under sleeve and outer sleeve seams shall be 3-needle felled locked construction.  There shall be a seamless underarm bellow to reduce rise of coat when arms are overhead, and the sleeves shall be contoured to follow the flex of the arm.  The sleeves shall incorporate pleats on either side of each elbow on the outer shell with corresponding liner darts to maximize comfort and range of motion.  Sleeve lengths shall be available in 1" increments with no minimum or maximum size restriction.
CUFF REINFORCEMENT:
The sleeve cuff shall be reinforced with one piece of polymer coated Kevlar. The cuff shall be not less than 2" in width with approximately 1" outside and 1" inside.  Cuff shall be double stitched.  Specify gray, black or gold.
SHOULDER REINFORCEMENTS:
Shoulder reinforcements shall be polymer coated Para-aramid.  Reinforcements shall taper from sleeve and body panels to collar, and 2-needle top stitched to coat.  Specify gray, black or gold.
ELBOW REINFORCEMENTS: 
Elbows shall be reinforced with polymer coated Para-aramid material. Reinforcements shall be 7" x 10" (graded according to coat size) allowing for contour of the sleeve and 2-needle lock stitched to the outer shell. Padding for the elbows shall be accomplished with a layer of quilted aramid batt. The layer of aramid batt shall be sandwiched between the shell and the elbow reinforcement layers. Specify gray, black or gold.
SLEEVE WATERWELL AND WRISTLET:  Coat sleeve shall have a waterwall designed to prevent liquids from entering the sleeve. The waterwall shall have a depth of approximately 4" and shall be constructed of thermal liner and moisture barrier material to ensure full protection to end of the sleeve.  Waterwall shall have a 4" Nomex/Spandex wristlet sewn to the end.
STORMFLAP:  The storm flap shall be a 4" x 23.5" long (6.5" x 23.5" for Chicago/Phoenix closure) or (5" x 23.5" for Hook & Dee/Hook & Loop or Hook & Dee/Compression Snap).  Storm flap shall consist of 3 layers of fabric, double stitched to the right side of the coat.  A layer of moisture barrier material shall be placed between the two outer shell layers.  Both the top and bottom of storm flap shall be reinforced with bar tacks.  An inner closure flap shall be installed under the inner closure to ensure continuous overlapping protection.
COAT CLOSURE: Hook and Loop outside; Zipper inside.  The coat front closure shall consist of a 22" heavy duty brass zipper under the stormflap.  The stormflap shall be closed with hook and loop.  A 1.5" x 20" strip of loop shall be sewn along the edge of the stormflap starting at the top.  A corresponding strip of hook shall be sewn along the left front of the coat to match the loop on the stormflap.
ULTRA FLEX-WING DESIGN:  The outer shell shall have two 20" x 1.5" inverted pleats (one each side) installed at the seam connecting the front and back body panels to provide enhanced mobility and freedom of movement.  The inverted pleats shall begin at the back of each shoulder reinforcement layer and extend vertically down the sides of the jacket.  The thermal liner/moisture barrier shall have a single inverted pleat located at the upper middle of the back.
BELLOWS POCKETS:  Two, 9"H x 10"W x 2"D bellows pockets, shall be made of outer shell material and double-needle locked stitched to the left and right front panel of the coat.  Pockets shall contain 2" vertical expansion seams on each side and bottom.  Pockets shall have 1.5" x 3" hook and loop (hook side) positioned horizontally, and double needle (4 rows) lock stitched to the pocket.  The 4" x 11" pocket flaps, made of two layers of outer shell material, shall be double-needle lock stitched to coat and secure with 1.5" x 3" hook and loop (loop side) double needle (4 rows) lock stitched on underside of flap, positioned vertically.  Each pocket shall have grommet free seam drainage technology at bottom of each pocket.  Retro reflective trim shall run over the bottom of the pockets so as not to interrupt the trim stripe.
BELLOWS RADIO POCKET:  One, bellows-style radio pocket radio pocket 8.25"H x 3.75"W x 2"D inside dimensions shall be made of outer shell material and double-needle lock stitched to the left or right chest.  Pocket shall have 1.5" x 3" hook and loop (hook side) centered horizontally, and double needle (4 rows) lock stitched to the pocket. Two-layer 4.5" x 4.5" pocket flap shall be made of outer shell material and secure with 1.5" x 3" hook and loop (loop side) double needle (4 rows) lock stitched centered on underside of flap, positioned vertically. Grommet free seam drainage technology at bottom of pocket.  Lining for bellows radio pocket shall be a layer of moisture barrier material 2-needle lock stitched to the inside of the pocket on the front three sides of the pocket.
MICROPHONE STRAP:  A strap shall be constructed to hold a microphone for a portable radio.  It shall be sewn to the coat at the ends only.  The microphone strap shall be mounted above the radio pocket and shall be constructed of double layer outer shell material.
FACE MASK POCKET:  An oval shaped pouch measuring approximately 5 inches deep by 8 inches wide by 15 inches high shall be constructed of outer shell material. The pouch shall accommodate a breathing apparatus face mask and shall be stitched to the right front body panel lining up with chest trim across the bottom of the pocket. Grommet free seam drain technology shall be installed in the bottom of the pouch. The pouch closure shall consist of a heavy-duty zipper mounted on the left side of the pocket (as oriented to the wearer).
RETROREFLECTIVE FLUORESCENT TRIMS: 3M Comfort trim Lime/Yellow (L/Y borders with silver center) Segmented Heat applied
TRIM CONFIGURATIONS: Trim shall be NFPA Basic configuration single needle (2 rows) lock stitched top and bottom of trim or double needle (4 rows) lock stitched to outer shell:  one 3" band around coat hem, one 3" band across chest and back of coat, one 3" band around each sleeve 2" above sleeve end.
ID LETTERS AND NUMBERS: Customized retroreflective letters and numbers shall be available in the following sizes and colors.  3" Scotchlite letters and numbers, lime/yellow
  IV.        TROUSER DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
CONSTRUCTION:  Trouser shall have four separate panels, two in front and two in back.  Side seams and inseams shall be 3-needlefelled locked construction.  The 2.5" wide, inner waist facing shall be lined with moisture barrier material and have eight snaps spaced evenly around facing.  A semi-high back panel shall be stitched to the rear of the trouser at the waist area when worn with a 32" coat.  The semi-high back panel shall extend not less than 2-1/2" above the waist.  The semi-high back panel shall measure approximately 8" across the top and approximately 20.5" across the bottom (graded) where it is stitched to the waist.  The semi-high back shall be of 3-layer construction consisting of outer shell, moisture barrier and thermal liner materials.  Two (2) suede leather tabs with compression snaps shall attach the liner system to trouser outer shell at bottom of trouser leg. Trouser shall incorporate a crotch gusset with corresponding liner gusset. The outer shell shall be constructed using stitch types 301, 401 and 515.  The thermal liner and moisture barrier shall be constructed with stitch types 301, 515.  Major A seams shall be felled locked construction with triple row stitching.
SIZES:  Trousers shall be available in 2" waist size increments and 1" inseam increments with no minimum or maximum size restriction.
THERMAL LINER AND MOISTURE BARRIER CONSTRUCTION:  Thermal liner and moisture barrier shall be bound together with a 1.5" FR Neoprene coated binding that has a 2-needle lock stitched to support and retain shape.  The knee area shall have an additional layer of moisture barrier and thermal liner material sewn to the thermal liner.  Additionally, the thermal liner and moisture barrier shall separate at the waistline for the purpose of inspection.  The opening shall close by means of hook & loop.
SEALED MOISTURE BARRIER SEAMS:  Gore 1 inch seam tape shall be used to seal seams on the Cross-tech moisture barrier.
METHOD OF ATTACHING THERMAL LINER AND MOISTURE BARRIER TO OUTER SHELL:  Trouser liner shall be completely removable.  The liner shall attach to the outer shell with 12 nickel plated brass snaps; eight snaps at the waistband and two at the bottom of each trouser leg.  Liner system shall be no more than 2" above bottom edge of outer shell.
FLY FRONT:  Fly shall be 11" x 4" 2-needle lock stitched to left front panel. There shall be three layers of protection:  two layers of outer shell and one layer of moisture barrier material.
TROUSER CLOSURE: Trouser closure shall be 1.5" x 9" Hook and loop double needle (4 rows) lock stitched; hook on right front panel and loop on front fly.  A plated hook and dee ring shall close fly at waist.  Dee ring secured to front fly with two (2) leather reinforced stainless steel rivets and oversized washers.  Dee ring positioned to meet the snap hook that is riveted with three (3) leather reinforced stainless steel rivets and oversized washers to the right of the fly flap.
CUFF REINFORCEMENT: The trouser cuff shall be reinforced with one piece of polymer coated Kevlar. The cuff shall be not less than 2" in width with approximately 1" outside and 1" inside.  Cuff shall be double stitched.  Specify gray, black or gold.
ANGLED CUFF: The trouser cuff shall be manufactured such that the rear of the trouser is 1.0" to 1.5" shorter than the front of the trouser.  Additionally, the liner system shall have a corresponding angled cuff.
BELLOWS POCKETS:  Two, 10"H x 10" W x 2"D bellows pockets, shall be made of outer shell material and double-needle locked stitched to the left and right side of the trouser.  Pockets shall have 1.5" x 3" hook and loop (hook side) positioned horizontally and stitched to the pocket.  The 4" x 11" pocket flaps, made of two layers of outer shell material, shall be double-needle lock stitched to trouser and secure with 1.5" x 3" hook and loop (loop side) centered on underside of flap and positioned vertically.  Each pocket shall have grommet free seam drainage technology at bottom of pocket. 
ULTRA FLEX-KNEE DESIGN:  The outer shell and the inner liners (thermal liner and moisture barrier) shall incorporate a pleated design that will allow for enhanced mobility and freedom of movement when kneeling/crawling.  Pleats shall be installed vertically on the inseam and side seam and consist of 3 pleats per side.  Additionally, the liner system shall have darts to complement to the outer shell pleats.
KNEE REINFORCEMENTS:
Knees shall be reinforced with polymer coated Kevlar material. Reinforcements shall be 8.5" x 11" (graded according to trouser size) allowing for contour of the knee and 2-needle lock stitched to the outer shell.  Specify gray, black or gold.
PADDING UNDER KNEE REINFORCEMENTS:  Padding for the knees shall be accomplished with one (1) layer of moisture barrier material and three (3) layers of NFPA approved thermal barrier material. All layers shall be sandwiched between the shell and the knee reinforcement layers and sewn at the top and bottom to prevent bunching of materials.
RETROREFLECTIVE FLUORESCENT TRIMS: 3M Comfort trim Lime/Yellow (L/Y borders with silver center) Segmented Heat applied
TRIM CONFIGURATION:  Trim shall be NFPA configuration 2-needle lock stitched around outer shell:  one 3" band around outer shell of each trouser leg.
SIDE TAKE-UP STRAPS:  Trousers shall have (2) take-up straps.  Constructed of double thickness outer shell material and installed on each side of the trousers in the waist area on the outside of the trousers.  The take-up straps shall allow approximately 2-3" per adjustment.  Adjustment shall be accomplished by hook and loop.
H-BACK SUSPENDERS: H-Back suspenders with quick adjust buckles and shoulder padding for added comfort.  Features 2" wide non-elastic webbing with 4-point attachment. Suspenders will attach to trouser through 4 horizontal loops and attach to themselves by means of hook and loop.
D. GLOVES SPECIFICATION 1.4
STYLE: Gloves shall be three dimensional with curved finger design and inset thumb. It shall have five separate finger fourchettes made of (2.5 oz - 3.0 oz.) tanned grain cow leather.
BACK SHELL: The back shell shall be made from PBI/DuPont Kevlar knit fabric and incorporate expansion pleats at the finger joints. A layer of Kevlar Nomex knit is added to the back of hand for additional thermal protection. A layered nonrestrictive contoured two-piece Eversoft leather knuckle pouch shall be sewn across the knuckle area.
PALM: The 1-piece palm shall be (3.0 oz. - 3.5 oz.) Eversoft cow leather tanned with additives to stay soft when wet and provide low water absorbency. Thread shall be 100% Kevlar.
MOISTURE BARRIER: Moisture barrier shall be breathable and waterproof Gore Crosstech glove insert for unsurpassed durability. Barrier material shall be 100% waterproof and provide viral/chemical penetration resistance and blood borne pathogen protection. A breathable adhesive shall be used to ensure full liner/barrier glove bonding.
THERMAL LINING: The glove thermal lining shall be 100% Kevlar/Nomex knit.
SIZES: Gloves shall be available in stock sizes 64N (S) through 82W (XXL)
WARRANTY: Gloves shall be warranted against liner pull out for two years.
CERTIFICATION: Gloves shall be certified to NFPA Standard 1971, 2018 Edition and manufactured in the United States.
