Descripción:

​The proposed project consists of the expansion and improvements of the passenger terminal and related facilities of the Rafael Hernández de Aguadilla of the following works:
Looking to significantly improve the traveler's experience, through this facility and make operations more efficient, the Puerto Rico Ports Authority has commissioned an extensive reconfiguration and expansion of the Rafael Hernández International Airport passenger terminal. The improvements aim to optimize the installation for civil use, and pursues three primary objectives; Improve safety, vehicular traffic, and passenger flow by incorporating the following:
To provide passengers with climate protection and enhanced safety an 18,000 SF extension to the existing mezzanine will be built to accommodate a large departure hall with four (4) new gates with boarding bridges. One of the new gates will have the capacity to serve international flights with a mechanism to separate passenger flows on arrival and easy access to a new 12, 000 SF Customs & Border Protection (CBP) facility.Vertical circulation is enhanced with the addition of (3) new elevators, escalators, and staircases.A new baggage handling system will be installed with the capacity to handle multiple inbound and out bound flights. New illuminated street canopies are developed for passenger drop off and pick up. The interior layout of the terminal building is reconfigured to separate passenger flows in departure and arrival mode both for domestic and international operations. Terminal communications, wayfinding, and security systems are expanded, and existing systems are enhanced.Public toilets, MEP infrastructure, and fire protection systems are expanded and improved.New Agriculture Inspection (USDA) facilities are provided in a central location with direct access to the new drop-off areas and airline check-in counters.  Passenger and baggage security screening is reconfigured and expanded to facilitate the movement of passengers to the departure hall. Baggage claim facilities are relocated to provide passengers with a clear and direct route from the aircraft to the street.  Finally, new commercial areas to accommodate food and beverage concessions integrated into the main passenger flow are identified.Provide two (2) new emergency electric generators using diesel fuel. The corresponding permit for emergency generators (PGE) will be obtained for each one.The construction will be in reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel. All the work will be carried out in the existing building and in the runway area immediately adjacent to the terminal, all in accordance with plans, contract documents and technical specifications.

The Bid Opening will take place virtually on September 29, 2022, at 10:00AM through Microsoft Teams Application. All bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud by the Bids Board.
